Collage (K–12) Create pictures with various shapes, lines,
colors, & patterns. This project can be designed as group activity or
individual work. Magazines, construction paper, material, yarn or ribbon, &
objects may be used. (single session)
Mask Making (K–12) - Experience making masks. This is a
great way to bring a story or a holiday theme to life. It can also support
cultural studies & folklore traditions. Additional sessions may be required
to incorporate dance, drama, & costume if desired. (single session)
Out of the Poetic Box (9–12) Language Arts
students combine classroom poems with the art of constructing decorative boxes.
The artist works in conjunction with the classroom teacher to integrate the
arts with their curriculum. Lessons may be adapted to other grade levels by
teacher request. (single session)
Murals, Mobiles and Mosaics (K–12) Explore the possibilities
to enhance classroom learning. Please discuss any idea of interest with the
artist. Projects may be adaptable to fit any curriculum. Additional sessions
may be required especially for large scale group activities using cooperation
& team building skills. (single session)
Colors
of the Rainbow
(K–12) In this hands-on experience, students explore color–primary and
secondary, warm and cool, and complementary. (single session)
Joli Noel graduated from the University of Louisiana at
Lafayette with a Bachelor's degree of Fine Arts in Choreographic Design. Over
the years she has gained experience in teaching various forms of art to all
ages. She has taught with the Teaching Artist Program, PACE (Primary Academic
and Creative Experiences) and SNAP (Summer Neighborhood Arts Program), among
others.
